The Society of St. Vincent de Paul
Members of the Society of St.Vincent de Paul (or "Vincentians" ) are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need. We are young and old. Our members come in every shade of skin color. Some of us are wealthy, some are financially poor, but all of us are blessed with an awareness that our blessings (time, talent or treasure) are to be shared with our brothers and sisters in need.
Energized by the awareness that service to our brother or sister in need is in fact an encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ, members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul are keenly aware that poverty, suffering and loneliness are present for millions in our communities. For that reason, we collaborate with all who seek to relieve need and address its causes.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. It is this personalized involvement that makes the work of the Society unique. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind service. An essential precept of the Society's work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served. The Society recognizes that it must assume, also, a role of advocacy for those who are defenseless or voiceless.
The Society's nearly 100,000 trained volunteers in the United States provided 12.5 million hours of volunteer service in 2018, helping more than 5.4 million people through visit to homes, prisons and hospital at a value of more than $1.1 billion dollars.

When crisis strikes, individuals shouldn't worry about how they are going live or get dressed for work. Our Voucher Program allows us to meet people's needs for clothing and household items.
In some ways, our Voucher Program illustrates the high-impact cycle we can create as a community. When people donate high-quality items to our store, we can make them available to struggling community members and we can sell them to enhance the scope of our operation. Voucher recipients are empowered to move out of cyclical poverty, and we're able to help more people achieve their fullest potential.
St. Vincent de Paul Society Wisconsin Dells works with people who need assistance with basic living conditions and expenses.
We do not ask that you belong to any certain faith community or that you participate in any religious activity in order to receive assistance; we serve all human beings at St Vincent de Paul.
The assistance procedure consists of an inperson interviews with our Outreach Coordinator at our outreach office inside St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store. The assistance you receive is based on the information you provide us. Supporting paperwork is required with each application.
Please understand that no one is here to judge you or the situation you are in, but we must verify the merit of your need. Based on the information you provide, the Society members will review your requests, making a decision within our organizational guidelines. Sometimes, a home visit may be required to complete their decision.

The St. Vincent Thrift store offers clean, high-quality clothing and household items to consumers at a reasonable cost. Today, the avenues of outreach are numerous. We feel strongly that we are a valuable resource in our community. Shopping at St. Vincent De Paul Wisconsn Dells is a simple and easy way to go green! Manufacturing, producing, packaging, and distributing new clothing takes a lot of energy and water. Disposing of unwanted clothing also takes a toll on the environment.
